Almost 11 months after first collaborating in November 2023, 18 East and Nanga are back with their second collaboration, the durable “Winter Trek” collection. Consisting of two collaborative jackets and five accompanying pieces of 18 East apparel, the offering is inspired by the artisans of Morocco’s Atlas Mountains and the quiet beauty of the winter treks to visit them.
When it comes to jackets, 18 East reinterprets Nanga’s signature hooded range jacket and lookout jacket. The Hooded Range Jacket comes in an earthy mocha hue and is made from 10dn recycled nylon with linings including 155g Spanish duck down. Meanwhile, the Lookout Jacket is undergoing a second reinvention at the hands of 18 East, following the aforementioned 2023 collaboration. It’s made from flame-retardant Japanese Takibi fabric (a fabric that Snow Peak apparel fans will no doubt be familiar with). It boasts the same water-repellent duck down as its compatriots.

As for the collection’s non-down jacket apparel, the matching Banks Utility Fleece and Aszenden Fleece Pants are made from hand-block printed 100% organic deep-pile sherpa cotton. The former has numerous pockets, while the latter has leg openings that can be pinched. The Tizi Mountain Shirt is hand-spun from exploding ripstop cotton and features four unique pockets. The TAC cargo pants, on the other hand, reflect vintage climbing and military silhouettes. Finally, the Hirock Half Sleeve Crewneck offers a boxy, oversized fit with a unique crop and asymmetrical snap pockets.
Look out for the 18 East x Nanga “Winter Trek” collection, launching on October 25th at the Nanga flagship store in Harajuku. It will then go on sale online through the 18 East webstore on October 30th at 11am EST and through 18 East in New York City. Studio soon after.
