A 19-year-old suspect was arrested Thursday after a shooting left four people dead and was found inside a burning Lancaster home.

The suspect was identified as Miguel Sandoval, 19, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

In the early morning hours of Nov. 16, deputies were called to a shooting at a residence in the 44500 block of Tabler Avenue. Authorities believe a party was being held at the residence when the fatal incident occurred.

Heavy smoke and flames were seen engulfing the house. Five victims were found inside, three were rescued by sheriff’s deputies and two were rescued by firefighters.

Four people died from fatal gunshot wounds. On Nov. 21, authorities identified them as Edwin Garcia, Christine Akaaku, Matthew Montebello and Jambi Makidan. At the time, they were described as “young people in their 20s.” The fifth victim was unharmed.

The suspect fled the scene, but was located and arrested the same day. The events leading up to the fatal shooting remain unclear.

“Investigators believe this was an isolated incident,” LASD said. “This incident remains an active investigation and in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation, no further details regarding the incident will be shared.”

The case is scheduled to be submitted to the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office for consideration on November 25th.
