A new report from Kensington, a private guided luxury travel service, ranked the top countries in their 2025 solo trips. Investigate and dig insights.
“Solo travelers are increasingly choosing destinations with deep cultural significance and independent independence and seamless personalized services and balanced unique landscapes,” says Matt, Senior Vice President of Marketing.・Camart told Travel + Leisure.
The survey found that 76% of respondents are very open to travel internationally over the next three years.
India is the number one solo destination of 2025
India is the biggest destination for those looking to venture alone.

This country is home to the Taj Mahal, one of the seven modern wonders of the world. The marble spirit US from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
According to the report, India offers travelers the “attractive depth of history and culture that many travelers have dreamed of for decades.”

Italy was ranked as the second solo destination.
Italy has always been a popular place, but solo travelers to European countries “have probably realized a unique personal dream,” the report says. “And we’re looking for experiences and places outside the mainstream.”
This coincides with trend reports from Expedia and Booking.com. This shows that we are skipping flashy trips to major global destinations for quiet excursions in less crowded places where holidays are less well known.
According to Expedia’s “Uppack 25” travel trends report, roughly 63% of travelers say they are more likely to visit beate-style off-track destinations on their next trip.
