Two Fontana men were arrested last month in connection with gang-related stab wounds, leaving one life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
The attack occurred around 12:45am on July 13 in the 15,000 block of Assol Street, unincorporated Fontana, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Officer. Investigators said the victim, whose identity has not been released, was facing rival gang members and was walking through the area when they were stabbed multiple times.
A detective from the Fontana Sheriff’s Office took over the case and determined that the victim was specifically targeted for partnership with a rival gang. With the support of gang investigators at the Fontana Police Station, detectives identified Fontana residents, 26-year-old Jason Moran and 25-year-old Justin Meza, as suspects. Additional witnesses were also found during the investigation, officials said.

Authorities said Moran and Meza were taken into custody during the search. The detective also retrieved three firearms, ammunition, several large-capacity magazines, stolen motorcycles and gang equipment.
Both suspects were booked at the San Bernardino County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and joined a crime-street gang. They are each detained on $1 million bail, officials said.
