Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly stealing $50,000 worth of tools from a Riverside County business.
The suspects were identified as 36-year-old Marselina Ortiz and 43-year-old Jason Warner, both of whom are Long Beach resident, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
On March 11, lawmakers responded to reports of a robbery at a business in the 28,000 block of Jefferson Avenue, Temecula.
The suspect broke into the store and stole around $50,000 worth of tools and property. They parked the stolen goods on the premises and loaded them into vehicles that did not belong to them, authorities said. They got into the car and drove.
The victim’s credit card was also stolen and was later used by the suspect to book a motel room in Santa Ana.
On March 15th, authorities arrived at the motel and found a stolen car in the parking lot. When they saw the suspect leave the room, they were taken into custody by deputies.
A search warrant was provided in the car and motel room, where the majority of the victim’s stolen items were recovered.
Ortiz was arrested for commercial robbery, possession of stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, identity theft, misuse of credit card information and possession of controlled substances.
Warner was arrested for commercial robbery. The case is under investigation.
