361 Arrested for immigration sweep at a cannabis farm in Southern California, the Fed says

Last week, after immigration enforcement efforts on two cannabis farms included violent clashes between protesters and federal agents, Homeland Security officials said more than 350 undocumented workers have been arrested and “at least 14 migrant children have been rescued.”

The immigrants unfolded at Glass House Farm in Camarillo, one about 35 miles above the coast at another glass house facility in Carpinteria, at around 8:30am on July 10th.

One man who worked at Glass House Farms Camarillo Operation reportedly attempting to avoid immigration agents, fell to about 30 cases from the building and was hospitalized with serious injuries. The man, later identified as Jamie Alanis, passed away Saturday after his family left life support, which was confirmed by the KTLA.

In violent clashes with an estimated 500 demonstrators gathered to protest the Camarillo attack, supported by members of the California State Guard federal government, law enforcement deployed non-fatal rounds and tear gas to the crowd.

Federal Bureau of Investigation Investigators are offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of a man who appears in the video to fire on federal authorities during daytime unrest.

The Channel Islands professor at California State University, identified as Jonathan Anthony Caravelo, was among those detained during the attack. Federal officials argue that a lecturer in mathematics and philosophy has robbed tear gas cannonballs in law enforcement and is currently facing federal accusations.

Three other protesters have also been arrested, but they have not yet been identified, according to the DHS.

In a news release, DHS provided an update on US immigration customs enforcement and US customs border security operations on farms.

“On July 10, 2025, federal law enforcement officials carried out criminal warrant activities on marijuana and cultivated the Carpinteria and Camarillo sites,” the release states. “As of July 13, at least 14 immigrant children have been rescued from potential exploitation, forced labor and human trafficking. Federal officials have arrested at least 361 illegal aliens from both Carpinteria and Camarillo sites.”

Officials said that a “violent and dangerous offender” was arrested during the surgery but only provided information about the four individuals identified as follows:

Rome Izquierdo of Mexico was found guilty of temptation, attempted rape and child abuse. DHS previously said he was deported in 2006. DHS said Mexico native Juan Duarte Velazquez had been convicted of rape and driving. robbery

No information was provided regarding the remaining 357 people being detained.

Regarding minors who are in the immigrant sweep, the DHS said that children were rescued from what appeared to be exploitation, forced child labour, potentially human trafficking or smuggling.

On the X-Post on the day of the attack, CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott said the Glass House farm would be investigated for child labor violations.

The day after the attack, dozens of children were reportedly handcuffed at a Los Angeles federal building, but it is unclear whether the children were reportedly rescued while sweeping a cannabis farm.

“This is becoming one of the biggest businesses soon since President Trump took office and we’re just going to start,” DHS said in a post to X.
