The US Border Patrol said four people were arrested Tuesday after allegedly obstructing federal immigration enforcement activities at Van Nice.
In a post on X, USBP’s chief patrol agent Gregory Bovino said that the four suspects used “improvised devices intended to disable our vehicles.” The post included a photo of what appeared to be a claw embedded in a strip of rubber attached to one of the vehicle’s tires.
Details regarding the identities of those arrested and immigration enforcement activities in the Western San Fernando Valley community were not immediately available.
It was not clear if the vehicle was damaged.
Videos from the scene showed bystanders involved in a conflict with federal agents that look like business parking.
The arrest followed weeks of immigration enforcement efforts in Los Angeles due to President Trump’s campaign promises, followed by a massive deportation. In an interview with Fox News Monday after the operation at MacArthur Park in Westlake, Bobino said federal authorities would remain in Los Angeles “until that mission is achieved.”
