Officials announced Monday that more than $5 million in grants have been allocated to Inland Empire health systems to address the physician shortage.
In a statement released Monday by U.S. Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-San Bernardino), his office said the funding will go to SAC Health System’s Educational Health Center Graduate Medical Education Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and Psychology programs. announced that it would be profitable.

“Ensuring that the Inland Empire’s underserved and rural communities have equal access to quality, affordable health care is critical to the health and well-being of our communities,” said Aguilar. the congressman said. “This grant will help strengthen the SAC health system in its efforts to address physician shortages in our communities, help close disparities in health care access, and address long-standing disparities.”
The funding is provided as part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources Administration’s 2024 Education and Health Center Graduate Medical Education Program.
SAC Health System has been providing medical services in the Inland Empire for more than 60 years, making approximately 180,000 visits annually.
