At least three people have faced federal charges after authorities said a smuggling boat covered in the San Diego County coast was overturned this week.
Three immigrants, including two teenagers, have died, and a 10-year-old girl disappeared and it was estimated that she died after the boat capsized on Monday off Del Mar.
Rosada Juarez and Golgonio Placido Diaz were Mexican nationals. The prince is from India and traveled with his parents and sister, court documents say. All three have owned, inspectors reported.
Eight people were found initially missing later. Four survivors were treated for injuries deemed important by the minor.
Late in the morning, two other people who identified themselves as attending a travel party were placed and taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Prosecutors said two of the five people allegedly involved in promoting smuggling were arrested at a beach near the scene of the rescue operation. According to the US Law Office, the Mexican man piloted the boat and allowed 15 people to smuggle into the United States.
Three other Mexico defendants were arrested in Chula Vista on Monday night.
Authorities say another complaint could leave near the scene of the boat accident in Del Mar and possibly pick up some of the survivors.
The vehicle was found parked on Monday from Flower Street in Chula Vista.
Two other vehicles nearby were stopped by Border Patrol agents, leading to the arrest of three defendants and the custody of the remaining undocumented migrants.
Federal authorities said one immigrant told investigators that he plans to pay $10,000 to be smuggled into the United States, while another has agreed to pay $13,000.
