More than half of respondents in a recent survey said they disapproved of President Trump’s ander obstacles to the economy.
A CNN poll released Wednesday found that 56% of respondents disapproved of how Trump has handled the economy since taking office, while 44% said they have approved it, and 1% said they have no opinion on the issue.
The results are statistically similar to the general approval of the way survey respondents Trump handles his job as president, with 54% saying he disapproved, 45% agreed, and 1% saying he doesn’t know.
However, among self-identified Republicans and Trump voters in 2024, they support the president’s support of the solar eclipse for the treatment of the economy.
92% of Republicans say they approve of Trump’s overall treatment of the presidency, while 88% say the same thing about his ander against the economy. Similarly, 91% of Trump’s 2024 voters say he supports the work he’s done so far, while 87% have approved his economic moves.
The investigation takes place as Trump faces criticism of his tariff policy and stock markets have seen a substantial decline amid a recession concern.
In an interview with futures this weekend on Fox News Sunday morning, Trump did not rule out the possibility of a recession. It suggests that the US is simply in a “transitional period.”
“I hate predicting such things,” Trump told host Maria Bartilomo. “What we’re doing is so big, so there’s a transition period.”
“We’re bringing wealth back to America. That’s a big deal. And there’s always a period. It takes a little time. It takes a little time,” he added. “But I think it should be great for us. I mean, I think it should be great.”
The CNN survey was conducted between March 6th and 9th with 1,206 respondents. The margin for error is 3.3% points.
