One Republican lawmaker has vowed to abandon many of the traditional day-to-day duties of the House Republican Conference, suggesting he will devote more time to supporting the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.) said she would refuse to serve on any given House committee and would refuse to attend the weekly meeting of House Republicans.
Rep. Victoria Spartz, R-Indiana, said Monday night, “I will remain a registered Republican, but will not serve on committees or participate in caucuses until I see Republican leadership in Congress governing.” I won’t,” he wrote to X on Monday night.

Spartz did not elaborate on how he would focus on DOGE.
She has defied House Republican leadership several times during the 118th Congress, primarily on issues of government spending and the national debt. She currently serves on the House Judiciary Committee.

DOGE is a non-binding advisory commission commissioned by President-elect Donald Trump to recommend areas to reduce spending and improve efficiency in the federal government.
He has tapped Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead it, and his push has been met with enthusiasm among House Republicans.

Spartz’s comments came a day before the Congressional DOGE Caucus prepares to hold its first meeting of lawmakers on Tuesday.
Fox News Digital reached out to Indiana Republican lawmakers to ask if they would consider joining the caucus.
