A ban on indoor and outdoor wood burning across much of Southern California has been extended through Monday, officials said, as air pollution is predicted to worsen in the region.
The residential wood burning ban will be in effect until at least 11:59 p.m. Monday for all residents of the South Coast Air Basin, including non-desert areas of Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, and all of Orange County. .
The order does not apply to mountainous areas above 3,000 feet, the Coachella Valley or high desert areas, according to the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
