Authorities have publicly identified the 18-year-old man accused of stabbing Azusa High School student Angelina Gonzalez to death.
Gonzalez, 17, was killed Friday evening in the 300 block of North Solano Avenue. On Tuesday, authorities identified the suspect in Gonzalez’s murder as Daniel Rodriguez, 18, also of Azusa, who authorities say was an acquaintance of Gonzalez.
The exact nature of their relationship and possible motives have not been disclosed.
He is charged with murder and a special charge of using a knife. He was being held in Men’s Central Jail in lieu of $2.02 million bail and was scheduled to appear in Pomona District Court on Tuesday morning.
