California Governor Gavin Newsom is reportedly considering a plan to help illegal immigrants and their families threatened by President-elect Trump’s mass deportation plan.
A draft plan obtained by POLITICO entitled the Immigrant Support Network Initiative would consist of regional hubs to “connect at-risk individuals, their families, and communities with local systems such as legal services.” It proposes the creation of an immigrant support network that will , schools, trade unions, local governments, etc.
FOX News Digital has reached out to a representative for President Trump. Newsom’s office told Fox News Digital that the draft was prepared by the California Department of Human Services and has not yet been considered in Sacramento.

“This document is an internal draft document intended for internal discussion as part of a number of possible considerations in light of the incoming federal government’s public statements,” the Department of Human Services and Public Affairs said in a statement. said Scott Murray, Deputy Director of Outreach Programs. he told Fox News Digital in a statement. “It’s not a final proposal.”

According to a report in Politico, Senate Budget Chairman Scott Wiener has proposed a bill calling for $60 million, which includes funding to create an immigration detention representation and coordination program.

Under the draft proposal, the state Department of Social Services would award state funds to eligible nonprofit organizations and take on management duties for the sites.
The draft does not indicate how much money the plan would require. But the money will be used for “authorized administrative expenses related to community outreach, partnerships, legal services staffing, and hub operations,” the Politico report said.
California currently faces a $68 billion budget deficit, according to the state’s Office of Legislative Analysis.
