“Home Alone” director Chris Columbus has finally put an end to the constant question of where Kevin McAllister’s parents got the money to buy their beautiful and huge mansion in Chicago.
“At that time, John [Hughes] “And we talked about it,” Columbus explained in a Dec. 24 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “and we took the job.”
So what exactly did Kevin McAllister’s parents do? The movie actually contained some hints. As for John Heard’s Peter McAllister, the details are a little more hazy.
“Based on John Hughes’ own experience, his father may have worked in advertising,” the 66-year-old said. “But I don’t remember what my father did.”
