President-elect Trump’s “border czar” Tom Homan has floated the idea of housing illegal immigrant children in halfway houses as part of the incoming administration’s mass deportation plan.

“When it comes to American children, children, it’s going to be a difficult situation because we’re not going to detain American children, which means they’re going to be put in isolation facilities. “It’s going to happen,” Homan said. The Hill told NewsNation on Thursday.

“They can alternatively stay at home and wait for officers to make travel arrangements and come back to pick up their families,” he added.

As part of his plan to address the border crisis, President Trump has unveiled plans to deport large numbers of illegal immigrants.

One of the administration’s priorities is finding the hundreds of thousands of migrant children missing in the United States.

Immigration crime wave under Biden-Harris administration comes under scrutiny amid series of assaults and murders: Timeline

“We’re going to ask the American people to pay attention. See something, say something, contact us,” Holman told Kellyanne Conway on “Hannity.” “If one out of 1,000 calls saves a child from sex trafficking or forced labor, that’s one life saved.”

Mr Homan acknowledged it was a “daunting task” but said: “We are going to do our best.”

Homan said in an interview with NewsNation that illegal immigrants do not escape deportation by giving birth to a child born in the United States.

“Just because you have a child who is an American citizen doesn’t mean you’re not subject to our laws. That’s the message we want to send to the whole world, that if you have a child you’re not subject to the laws of this country. It’s not,” Homan said. .

In addition to mass deportations, President Trump has threatened to pursue birthright citizenship, which would give anyone born in the United States automatic citizenship.
