Donald Trump Jr. plans to visit Greenland on Tuesday after his father, President-elect Trump, expressed interest in the United States’ “ownership and control” of Greenland, Fox News Digital has learned. Ta.
A person familiar with Trump Jr.’s plans told Fox News Digital that the president-elect’s son, who is traveling in a personal capacity, will appear on the Green at noon Tuesday to meet with local residents and visit cultural sites. He said he plans to arrive in Nuuk, Rand. more.
“As an outdoorsman who has traveled to fascinating places around the world, I’m excited to be stopping by Greenland this week for a little fun,” Donald Trump Jr. told Fox News Digital.
A source told Fox News Digital that Trump Jr. is “stopping on a quick, one-day trip to film some fun video content for a podcast.”

“He has no plans to meet with any government officials or politicians,” the source told Fox News Digital.
The visit comes as President-elect Trump seeks to purchase mineral-rich and geographically important territory.

In 1867, the State Department recognized the strategic importance of Greenland and Iceland and considered purchasing both countries, Fox News reported. After World War II, Denmark turned down President Harry Truman’s offer of $100 million for the island.
This land acquisition would be the largest expansion of American territory in history, surpassing the Louisiana Purchase.

But Greenland’s Prime Minister Mute Egede said last week that his country was not interested.
“Greenland is ours,” he said. “We are not and never will be for sale. We must not lose our age-old struggle for freedom.”
