When the Halpin family visited the remains of their home in Altadena on Thursday morning, all they saw was a statue of the Virgin Mary.

“We offered our suffering to Christ and His mother,” Andrew Halpin told KTLA5. “We prayed and then sang the Consecration of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.”
Andrew’s sister, Marie Claire Metcalfe, explained: “Faith has always been the foundation of our family and will continue to be as we move forward.”
Marie, who has 14 grandchildren and another on the way, said her family home is the “home base” for her growing family. Marie said her sister Gianna was living in her parents’ backyard with her two-year-old daughter when the fire broke out.
“They lost everything,” she said of her family home.
The video resonated with many people trying to cope with this difficult time, with numerous wildfires burning in parts of Southern California. As of Friday afternoon, the post had more than 20,000 likes, and that number continues to grow.
