LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Satellite images show the devastation caused by two wildfires in the Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Altadena and Pasadena that have burned more than 34,000 acres, destroyed at least 10,000 structures and claimed 10 lives. It conveys a unique and heartbreaking tragedy.

The fire started Tuesday as dry, hurricane-force winds battered Southern California. Southern California hasn’t had significant rain since early 2024. Experts estimate the damage could be well over $100 billion.
President Joe Biden declared a federal emergency, clearing the way for federal funds to fight the fire and help with recovery.
