President Trump nominates key figures to new positions in Truth Social as deputy cabinet members

President-elect Trump announced incoming members of Congress for several key Cabinet positions in a series of social media posts Saturday as Inauguration Day approaches.

Trump, who will take office in 10 days, made the announcement on Truth Social on Saturday afternoon. First, he nominated Catherine McGregor, who served in the same position in the Trump administration, to be the next deputy secretary of the interior.

“Katherine is currently the Vice President of Environmental Services for NextEra Energy, Inc. and previously worked at the Department of the Interior during my first four years as President,” Trump wrote. “She has assisted us in our quest to dominate our national energy and was an integral part of the team that produced the historic ‘Salute to America’ on the National Mall.” He was also a great member.”

Next, President Trump nominated David Fotouhi to be the next deputy administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

“David worked at EPA throughout my first term and concluded his duties as EPA’s acting general counsel,” the announcement said. “He is currently a partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. In his second term, David will work with our incredible EPA Administrator, Lee Zeldin, to advance pro-growth policies and advance America’s energy dominance. “and prioritize clean air, clean water, and clean soil for all Americans.” ”

The president-elect then nominated James P. Danley to be the next U.S. deputy secretary of energy, naming the nominee as “a retired U.S. Army officer who served two tours in Iraq, where he earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.” I called it.

“He served as general counsel, chairman, and chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission during my first term, winning countless cases in federal court and leading the charge to ensure abundant and affordable energy for Americans. He pushed for regulatory reform,” Trump wrote. . “James received his bachelor’s degree from Yale University and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law.”

In his final deputy secretary announcement, President Trump nominated Paul R. Lawrence to be the next deputy secretary for veterans affairs.

“Paul was an excellent Under Secretary of Veterans Benefits during my first term, implementing the legislation I signed to improve the GI Bill and the modernization of appeals,” President Trump wrote. “Paul was also instrumental in pushing the claims backlog to the lowest level in Veterans Affairs history. Paul was previously a partner at Ernst & Young and a member of the Kaiser Associates Public He was a divisional vice president.

“He will work with Doug Collins, the next Secretary of Veterans Affairs, to ensure that our heroic veterans are cared for and treated with the respect they deserve, while appreciating the incredible sacrifices they have made for our country. I will try my best.”

After announcing the next member of Congress, President Trump also announced that University of Chicago professor Casey B. Mulligan would become the Chief Advocate Counsel for the U.S. Small Business Administration.

President Trump called Mulligan “a highly respected expert on the regulations that are crushing our nation’s small businesses.”

“During my first term, Casey served as chief economist on my Council of Economic Advisers and helped craft economic policies that resulted in the best economy in American history,” Trump wrote. “Casey will work with our SBA administrator candidate, Kelly Loeffler, to ensure we reduce regulations and enable small businesses to thrive like never before.”
