The city of San Bernardino will receive federal funding to build more than 100 new electric vehicle charging stations, the city announced.
The grant is provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration and totals more than $14 million. With the money, the city plans to build 101 charging stations in 15 locations.
“This grant will propel San Bernardino toward a greener, more resilient future,” said Mayor Helen Tran. “By adding more than 100 community EV charging stations, we are not only improving access to sustainable transportation, but also reaffirming our dedication to environmental progress and community growth. ”

Here are the locations where new charging stations will be installed across San Bernardino:

The grant was awarded as part of the Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration’s Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) program. A total of 49 people across the country received grants, including six in California.
Other California organizations receiving EV charging station grants include the cities of San Jose, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco, and the State Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission.
San Bernardino was the only Southern California institution to receive this award.
