The male bikers were seen chatting with each other and sending text messages on their mobile phones as they continued to ride at high speeds. They took Highways 710 and 105, then onto the Imperial Highway and followed the surface streets.
At one point, a group of nearly 20 other riders on dirt bikes joined the two suspects during the pursuit. Most bikes were not road legal, and many riders were not wearing helmets or protective gear. Sometimes they even waved at the Sky5 camera overhead.
They all stopped at a gas station to refuel and then set off again. Many were seen performing stunts and doing wheelies on the street as police chased them. The group eventually came to a stop under a freeway underpass as police stopped pursuing the riders.
By 6 p.m., California Highway Patrol helicopters continued to circle overhead, searching for the first two suspects. Authorities have not released information about the arrestee or the identity of the biker.
