President-elect Donald Trump announced Friday night that a former fighter pilot will be the next deputy secretary of the Air Force.
Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeyer, former commander of the U.S. Space Command, appeared on Fox News in July to discuss military armaments after claiming he was fired for criticizing the “Marxist” DEI complex.
Lohmeyer graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2006 and served in the military for more than a decade before joining the Space Force in 2020, specializing in missile warning systems.

He was fired and lost his pension less than a year after appearing on The Steve Gruber Show to discuss his best-selling book, “The Charming Revolution: Marxism’s Goals of Conquest and the Dismantling of the American Military.” .
Lohmeyer was relieved of his command and was the subject of an inspector general investigation initiated by the Department of Defense, according to a biography posted on Congress.gov.
After leaving active duty in September 2021, he became a speaker and consultant on “Marxist ideology and tactics, CRT, military culture, and issues of preserving freedom,” according to his biography.

When announcing his nomination, President Trump praised Lohmeyer, writing that he “dedicated his life to the service of our great nation.”
“Matthew will work with great Secretary of Defense candidate Pete Hegseth to end the devastating ‘woke’ policies that destroyed our military and make our country strong again,” President Trump said on Truth Social. I wrote this. “Congratulations, Matthew!”
Lohmeyer expressed gratitude to Trump for his nomination at X.
“I am grateful for your confidence and very much look forward to continuing my service to our great men and women in uniform,” he wrote. “To all the men and women who want to serve our country in uniform, join us now! At this critical juncture in American history, we are looking for the best, brightest, and strongest of you. ”
According to Lohmeyer’s biography, he holds a master’s degree in military operations arts and sciences and military strategy. He lives in Idaho with his wife and children.
