More than a dozen Los Angeles-area sports teams are continuing to give back to those affected by Southern California’s ongoing wildfires.
At Dodger Stadium, SoFi Stadium, and BMO Stadium, evacuees can receive food, supplies, and other needed items. Proof of residence in the affected zip code is required.
A woman named Sandy spoke to KTLA’s Karine Winter about what it was like to have to evacuate her Pasadena home in the “midnight of the night” and what events like this mean to them. .
Resources for fire victims
“We can’t wash our clothes. Now we can wash our clothes by hand wherever we can go,” Sandy said. “Even something as simple as buying underwear for my son or just buying him clean things is so appreciated. We’re excited to finally have something positive happen.”
The Los Angeles team was affected by the fire, and some games were postponed, but when they were able to play, they also held a donation drive.
Each team partnered with Fanatics to raise funds through the sale of “LA Strong” shirts and sweatshirts.
