Police are asking for help locating a man suspected of raping two women in Long Beach earlier this week.
The first assault occurred around 1 a.m. Wednesday as the victim was walking near an alley in the area of West 10th Street and Pacific Avenue.
“An adult male suspect approached her and sexually assaulted her,” Long Beach police said in a news release.
Details about the attack were not released, but police said the suspect was on foot when he fled northbound on Pacific Avenue.
Police believe the same suspect approached another woman and punched her in the upper body in the 1200 block of Long Beach Boulevard around 9 a.m. that day.
The suspect is described as a black male between 25 and 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. Police said the man had medium-length dreads and facial hair.
