President-elect Donald Trump’s Vice President-elect J.D. Vance participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia on Sunday, the eve of his return to the White House.
Before returning to office, Trump participated in a series of events in Washington.
The president-elect’s wife, Melania Trump, and his children, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump and Ivanka Trump, were also in attendance. Vance’s wife, Usha Vance, was also in attendance.

Several of Mr. Trump’s cabinet nominees were in the crowd, including Pete Hegseth, his pick for secretary of defense. Marco Rubio nominated as Secretary of State. Tulsi Gabbard selected to be Director of National Intelligence. and Elise Stefanik, whom he chose to be ambassador to the United Nations.

President Trump appeared solemn as he laid a wreath on an easel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of a silent crowd in a light rain. Shortly after, Vance did the same.
During the ceremony, Trump saluted and Vance placed his hand on his heart.

After the ceremony, the two left Arlington National Cemetery.
President Trump is scheduled to hold a campaign-style “MAGA Victory” rally Sunday night at Capitol One Arena.
