A wildfire broke out on the northbound side of Highway 405 in Granada Hills on Monday (Video from Sky5 Shows).
It’s unclear exactly when and how the roadway brush started, but Sky 5 captured thick smoke and visible flames around 4 p.m.
Firefighters were not yet able to respond as the fire quickly spread up the hillside and traffic was backed up in the area, but members of the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived shortly after.
Preliminary reports say the fire was about half an acre in extent and there was no danger to buildings, but Sky5 reporter Gil Leyvas said first responders were concerned that embers could spread within the blaze. It was reported that there was.
