A Glendale hair salon helped wildfire victims find some sense of normalcy Monday by offering free services.
Extended Beauty Bar welcomed those affected by the Los Angeles County wildfires. Some of the services offered at the shop included blowouts, treatments, trims, washes and styles, and extension restoration.
Kylie Green, who attended the offer, said, “It’s soothing, and seeing the smiles around me lifts my mood.”
Greene is one of many Los Angeles County residents who lost their homes in the fire. She said the salon is a place she goes to forget her worries and was thrilled to see Extended Beauty Bar’s act of kindness.
“I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she said. “This is a traumatic time for many of us. Doing small things like this can help us break free from depression and trauma.”
It’s a sentiment Extended Beauty Bar CEO Jazminn Hobdy knows all too well. She said her family lost both of their homes in Altadena in the Eaton fire. While she is dealing with the loss of a loved one, she said she wants to give back to the community.

“We have these emotions that come and go, and sometimes you’re grateful to be here and then you think, ‘Oh, I’ve really lost everything,'” Hobdy said. spoke.
On Monday, women and young girls flocked to the salon in search of a break from reality. Some people stay quiet while being pampered, while others vent their feelings.
“I also hug my clients because it’s therapeutic and it’s important,” hairstylist Kaya Burrell said. “It’s all I can do, but it’s still something.”
“It’s great that the city rallied around us and came here,” Green said. I want to say thank you. Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. ”
