President Donald Trump arrived at the Commander in Chief Ball just after 10pm ET on Monday and had a first dance with First Lady Melania Trump. This will be the first of three ball appearances that night.

Immediately after the band played “Americans, We,” Mr. Trump was introduced by a host at the Walter Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.’s Mount Vernon Square.

This event is aimed at military personnel.

President Trump and first lady Melania Trump danced their first dance to a modern version of Julia Ward Howe’s 1861 Civil War hymn, “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

The song was the Army of the Potomac’s clarion call, the opposite number to the Confederate Army’s “Dixie.”

In his brief remarks, President Trump told the audience that this election was a “huge victory” and that a big reason for his victory was “our relationship with you, the American people.”

At a military-themed ball, he praised Pentagon Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth.

Trump also spoke at two other balls later in the evening, one at the Washington Convention Center and the last at Union Station.

The Liberty Ball was sandwiched between the Commander-in-Chief Ball and the Starlight Ball.

While the Commander in Chief Ball was aimed at military personnel, the Liberty Ball will be attended by a broader range of Trump supporters. President Trump’s speech is headlined, but like the Commander in Chief Ball, it will also include some musical performances. These performances will feature country singer Jason Aldean, rapper Nelly, Village People, and more.

At the Liberty Ball, also held at the convention center, Mr. Trump had another first dance with Mrs. Trump.

Several members of the Trump family then took to the stage, along with Vice President J.D. Vance and second daughter Usha Vance. They danced to “Unchained Melody” by the Righteous Brothers.

“It’s been a hellish day,” President Trump told the Liberty Bowl crowd.

The ball comes after a day packed with events, including President Trump’s formal swearing-in ceremony, the inaugural parade at Capital One Arena and a signing ceremony in the Oval Office.

Among the day’s events, President Trump signed a number of executive orders related to border security, diversity, equity and inclusion, energy and climate on January 6th, and federal employees.

He signed more orders than Trump signed on his first day in office in 2017 or President Biden signed on his first day in office.

A wide range of Trump supporters are expected to attend the Liberty Ball. President Trump’s speech is headlined, but like the Commander in Chief Ball, it will also include some musical performances.
