Authorities are trying to identify and locate two men who were seen on security camera stealing fire equipment from a U.S. Forest Service vehicle in San Bernardino County.
According to a U.S. Forest Service Sun news release, around 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 17, two men in a red two-door Jeep Wrangler crashed into the Hilton Inn on Milliken Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga. I parked my car in the Express parking lot. Bernardino National Forest Department.
Officials said the men were parked near Engine 336 in the San Bernardino National Forest, which was assigned for emergencies during Santa Ana wind events. The men got out of the vehicle, pried open three locked compartments of the U.S. Forest Service vehicle, removed firefighting equipment and loaded it into the Jeep.
The men then drove away, turning onto Milliken Street and then Fifth Avenue, authorities said.
Both men are described as being between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet 0 inches tall. One was described as having a thin mustache, medium to large build, and wearing a red jacket and black knitted hat. The other person was wearing a blue baseball cap, blue long-sleeved shirt and jeans. Their Jeep had California license plates starting with the number 6, tan seats, and a black soft top.
