On Friday afternoon, Pacific Palisese residents Dave Hervillich headed to the Brook Tree Road and West Sunset Boulebird intersection on Friday afternoon.
This intersection, blocked by military hambies and local police, is about 1 mile from the ruins of Harvilitz’s home on Mount Hall York Avenue, one of the hundreds of the burned Parises fire. Ta.
“We just wanted to thank him for coming and attracting attention.” [to the fires]Harvilitz (50) said.
President Trump’s visit to Pacific Palisese and the remains remained in the fire storm on January 7 were heavy, but some people have a slight excitement.
Harvillichi and 6 -year -old son Leo were among the few residents who came to see the president passing by. They spoke as helicopters and other military aircraft flyed over the sky.
On January 7, Harvillic and their families evacuated to Santa Monica’s friend’s house. He and his wife were planning to return home within a few days, but not yet permission to enter the premises.
“We are thinking about what to do next,” he said, adding an estimate that the U.S. Army Corps took 18 months from the U.S. Army Engineering Corps on Thursday night.
President Trump investigated the disaster on Friday and talked to some residents who lost his house. He said he was shocked by the destruction and pledged to help the victims in cooperation with local authorities.
“We must cooperate to truly solve the problem,” Trump said in a meeting with Los Angeles. “Until you actually see it, I don’t think you can understand how catastrophic it is. It’s amazing. It’s just incinerated.”
During the talks, Trump discussed a little with local leaders (many of them were Democrats). However, he repeatedly vowed that he would cooperate with them to promote the reconstruction effort.
Prior to the talks, Mr. Trump threatened to refrain from providing federal aid to California in exchange for changes in water management and the introduction of voters’ identification requirements.
However, his tone while visiting was much calm. He declared a state emergency and promised to abandon or speed up the federal permission required for rebuilding, but did not mention specific conditions for the Federal aid.
Harvilitz agrees to conclude disaster support to the introduction of voter IDs in the state. I personally hope that President Trump can contribute to the acceleration of the reconstruction process.
Harvillic took Leo on his shoulders, and the young man had a poster with a photo of President Trump who was shot during a rally in Pennsylvania.
“I hope he was watching us,” said Harvilitz.
