A drunk driver suspect was arrested after a head-on crash killed a man in Riverside County.
The suspect was identified as Darrell Davis, 34, of Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
On Jan. 20 at approximately 4:24 p.m., deputies responded to a crash near State Street and Quant Ranch Road in San Jacinto.
Authorities say Davis was driving when he veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the victim’s vehicle. The victim, Javier Lopez Montez, 48, of Hemet, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Authorities determined drug impairment was a factor in the crash. Davis was arrested at the scene and later charged with Montez’s murder.
Deputies also confirmed that Davis had previous arrests for drunk driving.
