Ahead of the weekend, Southern California will be followed by another informative shower.
The current weather system does not promote flood concerns and is expected to dry out by the weekend.
“There’s drizzle and fog between the showers, as was the majority of Tuesday. By Friday afternoon, the shower is pretty dry,” says NBC4 meteorologist David Biggar. Ta.
Rainfall:
Ventura County: 0.25-0.72 inches. Los Angeles County: 0.25-0.50 inch Empire and Orange County:
The total rain is expected to be similar to the shower we just saw. Ventura County has a higher total than the rest of the area. Snow levels remain very high (about 8,000 feet), so only the highest peaks can see the snow. 8,000 feet are located above most resorts in the area.
Porter Ranch and Beverly Hills were some of the areas that received the largest rainfall in LA County.
There could be rain next week, but there is a lot of uncertainty about the timing and the combined rain. More should come as the next week approaches.
Downtown LA recorded just 0.16 inches of rain this season before last month’s rainfall broke a month-long dry spell. The average annual rainfall in downtown LA is around 14.25 inches. During the 2022-2023 rainy season, 28.40 inches of rain fell on the area and 25.19 inches of rain from 2023-2024.
Historically, the most comfortable month in Los Angeles, the average rainfall in January is nearly 4 inches.
As another round of showers soak in the area, new concerns have risen over the runoff from areas affected by wildfires entering the storm drain. Robert Kovacik is reporting NBC4 News’ report on February 6, 2025 at 11pm.
