You’ll want to refrain from storing rain boots. Another round of rainy weather is heading for Southern California, and could bring more rainfall than last week’s system.
Valentine’s Day could be a pessimistic day in Southland this year, with forecasts for next week that will bring rain for three days. The system is set to be introduced on Wednesday and tapering on Friday, with the biggest rainfall expected later in the week.
“We’ll start with a steady rain on Thursday morning, but there’s this frontline heavy that is possible on Thursday night on Friday morning,” said NBC4 meteorologist Shana Mendiola.
The storm could result in mud and debris flow, but so far the National Weather Service has not issued warnings or clocks related to the system. Don’t be surprised if Mendiola pops up as she approaches the storm.
She added that although there is no estimate of the total rainfall amount yet, SOCAL could get a much-needed amount that could help the area’s current deficit.
“These amounts may be a lot just because there is consistent rainfall over three days,” Mendiola said.
This time, there may be snowfall for the mountains as well.
“Last time there was only rain. This time it looks like a 5,000-foot peak or some resort level,” Mendiola said.
