Los Angeles Dodgers fans, you can breathe now.
Puerto Rican-born utility player Enrique “Kyque” Hernandez will be back next season. The news comes from Hernandez himself, who posted a soundtracked video of Kendrick Lamar on Sunday on social media.
His return was subsequently confirmed by multiple reports. As of Sunday afternoon, the terms of his deal have not been revealed.
The 33-year-old became a free agent after winning the World Series with the Dodgers in October.

Hernandez was first promoted to the major leagues with the Houston Astros in 2014, and was traded with the Miami Marlins about a month later. That offseason he was treated to LA alongside Austin Burns and Andrew Heaney.

Hernandez became a Dodgers fan favorite as the team experienced postseason success. He was a member of the 2020 World Series Championship team and departed for the Boston Red Sox in free agency a few months later.
He was traded to LA during the 2023 season, where he regained his role as a utility player. Sunday’s announcement comes after months of uncertainty about his future in LA
Last season, Hernandez hit a batting average of .229 in 126 games.
