President Donald Trump has found an alliance in the Senate, at least with plans to stop creating a new penny.
D-Nev. Sen. Jackie Rosen came out in support of Trump’s latest proposal on Tuesday, calling it a “common sense move.”
The Democrats represent the battlefield conditions that both she and Trump won in 2024.

Over the weekend, Trump announced that he had “instructed his U.S. Treasury secretary to halt production of new penny.”
“For too long, the US has been minting pennies that cost literally more than two cents,” the president writes about the true society.
“Let’s tear waste from the budgets of our great nation, even if it’s a penny at once.”

Rosen appeared on X on Tuesday, writing, “When coming from the other side of the aisle, I’m not afraid to embrace good ideas, and I agree with President Trump about this.”
“Eliminating pennies is a common-sense move to save taxpayers’ dollars,” she said.
She’s not the only one who came out in support of Trump’s ideas.

“There are major environmental benefits to not only saving taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars, but eliminating pennies. This is a big move,” D-Colo said. Gov. Jared Polis of the president spoke about the president’s plans.
