As Valentine’s Day approaches, organizations find ways for community members to celebrate their holidays for good reasons.
Events around Los Angeles are events that you can love this Valentine’s weekend.
February 14th:
Valentine’s Day LA Fire Relief Volunteer
24LA, Pair and Care worked together to host the Valentine’s LA Fire Relief event. Volunteers will help shop for families affected by LA Fires and pack the 24 LA warehouse from 11am. There is music, food and drink for everyone who lends a hand. Sign up here.
rhondavous
A club called Rhonda will work with Magdalena Bay & The Hellp to host Rhondavous: A Lovers ‘Ball 4 Fire Relief. The Valentine’s Day celebration takes place at Catch One and includes two different floors, five rooms and 18 DJs. Some of the tickets go directly to “It’s bigger than us,” a community-led organization that supports underserved communities at the forefront of fire relief efforts. Children’s Hospital Annual Valentine’s Day Card Drive
Children’s Hospital Los Angeles hosts its annual online Valentine’s Day card drive. Community members can choose one of three coloring cards and add a personalized message to their letter for free. The anonymous donor pledged $1 for each card sent by February 14th, with a maximum of $25,000.
Creating Big Sunday Valentine’s Day
Big Sunday, a nonprofit, will be holding its second annual Valentine Mania, a party to create Valentine’s Goody Bags for various groups in Los Angeles. This year, the organization hopes to create 500 Valentines Day and provide it to hospitals, shelters and advanced centres. The event will start at 10am, at the big headquarters on Sunday, with delivery efforts starting at 1pm. You can find opportunities to sign up or donate here.
February 15th:
Cupid’s UNDIE Run Los Angeles
Cupid’s UNDIE run supports people affected by the NF. NF is a group of genetic conditions that allow tumors to grow on nerves within the body. The organization will hold a long run of about a mile at Mama’s bar in Santa Monica at 12pm. The event begins with drinks and dances. . Registration starts at $45.

Participating Beverly Hills hotel restaurants and bars will donate a portion of their proceeds from February 9th to 15th to support Los Angeles wildfire relief efforts. Up to $175,000 will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club in Malibu, the Boys & Girls Club in Pasadena, and the California Community Foundation Wildfire Recovery Fund.
