LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – California Attorney General Rob Bonta and 18 other state attorney generals release statement after another judge blocked President Trump’s executive order to end his birthright citizenship I did.
“President Trump may believe he is beyond the law, but today’s provisional injunction sends a clear message: he is not the king, but rewrites the constitution in Penn’s stroke. “We cannot,” the statement partially stated.
US District Judge Leo Sorokin, sitting in U.S. District Court in Massachusetts, said 19 states, the District of Columbia and two nonprofits are likely to win the benefits of the claim.
The new lawsuit alleges that the University of California is illegally considering the race of admissions
In January, California took part in a lawsuit against Trump’s executive order.
Bonta pointed to the incident with Wong Kim Ark, the San Francisco-born son of a Chinese immigrant.
The case set precedents for establishing birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment.
In his opinion, Sorokin pointed out that the administration can revisit the case, but that is a problem for the Supreme Court.
