LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – A group of photojournalists getting footage of the rain as heavy thunderstorms and strong winds hit Los Angeles on Thursday, rushing for safety as water and mud rushed down Altadena Street I realized that.
The incident happened just before 5pm on the videos obtained by the KTLA show, Rubio Vista Road and Playantridge Drive.
The camera crew is seen parked on a curb on a sloped road near several public works trucks. Some of them, including a KTLA photographer, stand outside the car with an umbrella and try to set up a shot as soon as water and mud start pouring down the street.

One of the photojournalists hastily throws an umbrella behind the vehicle, then runs back to dismantle the camera and reach safely, making it safe before moving off the edge of the road and completely covering it.

Another photographer quickly turned the car and got a better view of the devastation of Eton Fireburn’s scars. This is under flash flood warnings, sailing through muddy water and debris moving on either side of the car.
In the Rubio Highlands area, LA County deputy sheriffs stopped patrol cruisers at an intersection filled with water rapids.
In harm’s way, footage taken near Rubio Canyon Road and RubioCrest Drive shows a basin of debris that sends a dangerously fast flow downstream through water limbs and other debris.
