Police announced Friday that the man had given himself up for a hit and run in Tarzana, putting pedestrians in a critical state.
The felony hit and run took place at Rossed Bad Bird and Clark Street on Feb. 11 at around 9:25am, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to LAPD, the driver of the Blackford F-150 pickup truck was heading southbound on the Lesse Double Bird as he turned left towards Clark Street and attacked a pedestrian on a marked crosswalk. .
But before the driver took off, LAPD said he was first stopped, leaving the truck and where the victim was lying in the street.
The driver then returned to the truck and fled east from the scene on Clark Street.
LAPD did not immediately say how long the driver spent with the victim or what happened between them.
Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and took pedestrians to a local hospital in critical condition.
Pedestrians were publicly identified only as men in their 60s. LAPD said the victim’s name was withheld on the next pending notice of incest.
The detective sent out the release on the same day, asking the witness to identify the driver who described him as “a man wearing a baseball hat, a blue jacket and dark pants.”
The next day was the suspect who was identified as 48-year-old Tarzana Jesse Robinson and surrendered to the West Valley Police Department.
Valley traffic detectives arrested and booked Robinson on a felony hit and run on $80,000 bail.
“A driver will remember that if they are involved in a collision, they will need to be safe, notify emergency services and stop immediately if they remain on the scene to identify themselves,” LAPD said. It was mentioned in the release.
