Officers have arrested a man who allegedly attacked his wife while armed, was hospitalized, and threatened to kill her and a small child in San Bernardino County, officials announced Friday.
The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office said lawmakers responded to a domestic disturbance call in Adelanto around 7:49pm on February 13.
SBSD said the man was armed and attacking his wife, according to the caller.
Upon arriving at the home in the 11,100 block of Rosedale Drive, deputies evacuated the home and took the suspect into custody.
SBSD said Roos was a convicted felon.
Deputies discover that Ruth assaulted his wife and transported her to a local hospital. Authorities did not immediately say what she was in as of Friday night.
“Ruth also threatened to kill his wife and small children under the age of 15 with AK47,” SBSD said in the release.
The AK47 assault rifle was found during a search for several other firearms during a search of the house.
Deputies arrested Ruth and booked him at a high desert detention center for attacks by fatal weapons, spousal abuse, possession of ammunition, possession of illegal assault weapons and manufacturing a large-capacity magazine.
Roos is being held on $150,000 bail, SBSD said.
The investigation is ongoing and authorities will ask anyone with information to call 760-552-6800 to contact Deputy B. Velazquez at Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station.
