In a post published Saturday afternoon, Trump explained how his mutual tariffs work in great detail. In recent weeks, he has announced 25% tariffs on all aluminum and steel imports into the US, plus 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico, as well as 10% tariffs on imports from China. did.
Trump wrote, his recent move to implement mutual tariffs was decided “for the purposes of fairness.”

“Similarly, if some countries do not even operate our products, or if a company does not even operate it, there will be provisions for non-financial tariffs and trade barriers that some countries charge,” the President said. added. “We can accurately determine the costs of these non-monetary trade barriers.”

Trump concluded his post by claiming that the United States is “unfairly treated by other countries, both friends and enemies.”
“This system will bring equity and prosperity to a previously complex and unfair system of trade,” the Republican continued. “The United States has supported many countries over the years with huge financial costs. It’s time for these countries to remember this and treat us fairly. Equal arenas for American workers.”
“I have directed the Secretary of State, Secretary of Commerce, Secretary of Treasury and US Trade Representative (USTR) to do all the work necessary to bring interactions to the trade system!”
Earlier this week, Trump said that despite the intense criticism of foreign trade partners in recent weeks, he is encouraged to encourage foreign trade partners to move their businesses into American soil. He promised to be “full of work.”
