President Donald Trump wrote a long, truthful social post on Saturday about overhauling his trade policy, highlighting plans to charge mutual tariffs on countries where the US is doing business.

In a post published Saturday afternoon, Trump explained how his mutual tariffs work in great detail. In recent weeks, he has announced 25% tariffs on all aluminum and steel imports into the US, plus 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico, as well as 10% tariffs on imports from China. did.

Trump wrote, his recent move to implement mutual tariffs was decided “for the purposes of fairness.”

“We will consider countries that use VAT for the purposes of this US policy. [value-added tax] The system where tariffs are far more punitive is similar to that of tariffs, Trump wrote. It was accepted. ”

Most countries use VAT systems, including the UK, China and Mexico. Trump added that he would implement the provisions “for the subsidies provided by the state to make the US economically available.”

“Similarly, if some countries do not even operate our products, or if a company does not even operate it, there will be provisions for non-financial tariffs and trade barriers that some countries charge,” the President said. added. “We can accurately determine the costs of these non-monetary trade barriers.”

“It’s fair to everyone, and other countries can’t complain. In some cases, if a country feels that the US is too high, what they have to do is to do, All you need to do is reduce or end the duties on the product. There are no duties when manufacturing or building a product in the US.”

Trump concluded his post by claiming that the United States is “unfairly treated by other countries, both friends and enemies.”

“This system will bring equity and prosperity to a previously complex and unfair system of trade,” the Republican continued. “The United States has supported many countries over the years with huge financial costs. It’s time for these countries to remember this and treat us fairly. Equal arenas for American workers.”

“I have directed the Secretary of State, Secretary of Commerce, Secretary of Treasury and US Trade Representative (USTR) to do all the work necessary to bring interactions to the trade system!”

Earlier this week, Trump said that despite the intense criticism of foreign trade partners in recent weeks, he is encouraged to encourage foreign trade partners to move their businesses into American soil. He promised to be “full of work.”

“They can build factories here. Plants, or whatever it is, here Trump said from an oval office on Thursday afternoon. “And that’s a chip and a semiconductor. It includes medical care, including cars. It includes everything. If you build here, there are no tariffs at all. I think that will happen. At work.”
