Suarez said that at the time of the crime, it was already sought in both New Jersey and Massachusetts, but that ICE is a detainee for immigrants in Columbia. to federal authorities.
The detainee means that ICE can quickly deport individuals if local governments cooperate, a source told the New York Post.
“Donald Trump and [border czar] Tom Homan is right that we need to take violent people out of New York City and Eric Adams. Letitia James and Kathy Hochul should all work together as this person has ice detentions,” the source said.

“Ice just picks up this person and deports him,” the source continued, adding that New York City’s “sanctuary law” means local police can “do nothing.”
According to the report, prosecutors demanded $500,000 in bail and $1.5 million in bonds from Suarez. This was shot down by Judge Elizabeth Shamas, who settled on $100,000 bail or $250,000 bond.
However, sources believe this amount indicates that the city is still not interested in the true victims of immigration crime.
