New York City Mayor Eric Adams will not resign from his position on Sunday to church people as he is on a mission from God and faces a Quid Pro complaint with President Donald Trump’s administration. He said.
Adams made a statement during a sermon at Maranata Baptist Church in Queens, saying, “I’m not going anywhere,” the New York Post reported.
“I have a mission to end the mission that God placed me years ago,” Adams said, adding, “God strengthened me.”
In an interview Friday, Adams told Fox & Friends he plans to run for reelection as a Democrat.

Adams, a Democrat who said he was targeted by the Biden administration, was charged in September with charges that included bribery, campaign contributions from foreigners, wire fraud and solicitations for conspiracy. He pleads not guilty to all charges.
The decision to stop the lawsuit against Adams came as part of Trump’s efforts to review the Justice Department.
Attorney General Pam Bondy told Fox News in an interview Friday that Adams was targeted after criticising the Biden administration’s immigration policy.
Several Justice Department officials resigned in protest Thursday, rather than complying with an order to stop the bribery lawsuit against Adams.
After the charges have been dropped, Adams faces a call to resign after being accused by Quid Pro of his willingness to cooperate with the Trump administration’s crackdown to curb illegal immigration.
“I think it’s so amazing. The most sanctified among us is asking me to resign,” Adams told the church gathering. “I’m not going to resign. I’m going to step up.

“The allegations are very concerning and serious, but as the governor of this state has a politically motivated response with knee larvae, as many others have just said, I am. I can’t,” she said.
Hochur is the only state official who has the power to remove Adams from his position.

Hochul further said, “I have to do smart things, I have to do the right things and I’m currently consulting with other government leaders.”
