People who watch the night sky in a few weeks will have the opportunity to see the moon change colour during special celestial events.
According to NASA, until late March 13th, the lunar eclipse will appear overnight. This will be the only total lunar eclipse seen from the US this year.

The Eclipse Action starts at around 11pm on March 13th and runs until around 5am on March 14th. When the moon completely changes colour, it will reach around 1:30am on March 14th.

According to NASA, the moon enters the shadows of the Earth during a solar eclipse and adopts a temporary dark orange or reddish color. This becomes a complete lunar eclipse, so the entire moon enters the shadow of the Earth called the Umbra, and appears from there to return to its normal appearance. The farmer’s yearbooks show that the red colour leads to blowing away the total lunar eclipse like a bloody moon.

No special equipment is required to watch the event, Culbertson added. As long as you have a clear view of the moon (and still awake), you just go outside your home. If you don’t want to wake up late, you’ll aim to wake up early instead to watch the solar eclipse.
