The Arizona bill allows local and state authorities to shoot down drones used by drug cartels.

House Bill 2733, sponsored by Republican Rep. David Marshall, provides authorities with a qualified immunity for injuries that could be caused by robbing a “unmanned” drone within 30 miles of the tropical border. Cartels use drones regularly as a tool to monitor law enforcement activities around the border in hopes of avoiding them with their own smuggling operations.

According to one sheriff, the border situation has settled down, but there are still many issues with crime.

“We didn’t think drug cartels were going to leave because borders would be safer under President Trump’s new administration,” said Yabapai County Sheriff David Rhodes, president of the Arizona Sheriff’s Association. News digital in an interview he spoke to Fox.

“They’re now more creative – drone technology to smuggle drones into boundaries and drop them, taking out and picking up external luggage in the desert.

As experts recently told Fox News Digital that the cartel is trying to find a way to keep its cache flowing despite recent borders, small aircraft use is a local government and is becoming an important concern not only for state authorities but also for federal border agents. control.

State-level laws are co-hosted as a rare, bipartisan moment as some state leaders are split wildly into the new administration’s borders and immigration policies. Still, drug prevention was a commonality among the Grand Canyon states.

“This bill gives them the tools they need to do exactly. Let Arizona law enforcement authorize them to override these cartel drones. To our sheriffs, we will say this. Give them the power to fight back by passing the bill. Mexican drug cartels say Democrat Attorney General Chris Mays at a press conference Monday called for a policy to enact the issue as of last spring. He said.

If the bill passes the majority of Republican Congress, it goes to Democrat Katie Hobbs’ desk. The governor’s office did not respond in time to comment on whether she was planning to sign the legislation.
