A heartwarming reunion will take place as Carrot Cake, a brave cat who survived the Eton Fire, is rescued by the Pasadena Humane Society and then brought back with his family.
Following the devastating Eton fire, many families were heartbroken as their homes and property were destroyed. But for some, there was hope in the tragedy as some beloved pets reunited with their owners. One such reunion was Carrot Cake, a two-year-old cat whose survival story is nothing but a miracle.
First responders found a carrot cake in a burned area in Altadena on January 16th, nine days after the fire began. His family, forced to evacuate as the fire quickly approached the home, could not find him in time. Tragically, by the time they were allowed to return, their homes turned to ashes and feared that the carrot cake would not survive.
“[We] I came back the next morning, [and] My house was Cinders. In other words, my entire house was gone. Carrotcake’s father Stephen said in a video posted by Pasadena Human.
When the carrot cake was brought to Pasadena humanity, it turns out he burned his legs and sang fur, but it was a miracle that he survived the fire.
“I knew he was a fighter. I thought he probably survived. If the cat survives, it would be this,” Stephen shared.
Luckily, the carrot cake was microchipped, allowing the Pasadena Humane Society to identify him and reunite with his family. The emotional reunion was filled with joy and relief.
“I can’t believe he’s here,” cried Stephen. “I can’t believe they actually found him. I never thought I’d see him again,” Stephen overcomes his emotions, petting the carrot cake in tears, marveling at the reunion.
To share the good news with his family, Stephen called out the video. “You never believe this. Stephen said with delight, lifting up his pussy career for her to see.
“Thank you for helping me find the kitten,” Stephen’s young daughter said on the phone. Her voice was filled with gratitude.
Stephen expressed his deep gratitude to the Pasadena Humane Society and the firefighters who played an important role in helping them reunite with the carrot cake. The carrot cake survival and return story serves as an emotional reminder of hope amid Eton Fire’s heartbreak.
