Virginia Democrats have raised racial concerns that the Virginia Military Institute’s board of directors may decide to provide a comprehensive contract extension for the first black supervisor of historic schools .
R-Va. According to Senator Ben Klein of Virginia Military Institute board members, at least one member of the Virginia Legislature has expressed concerns about a potential non-extension of Major General Cedric’s victory contract, It brings you and competes in situations.
With the district running nearly 200 miles from Roanoke to Winchester, Klein, including VMI, wrote to Virginia Legislators’ Clerk and Senator Virginia on Tuesday asking for an ethical investigation into Sen. Jennifer Carroll.

“I’m just trying to help VMI,” Carolfoy, a VMI alumnus, told board members.
“Cedric is African-American. The general meeting leadership is African-American. Your board appointment and budget revisions are at risk. By giving Cedric a four-year contract extension, we will be able to do so. I can fix it,” she said.
Virginia House Speaker Don Scott, D-Portmouth, and Senator L. Louise Lucas (D-Portmouth) are both black.
The exchange bothered Klein. He said in his letter, “I have said of these actions, especially the direct threats committed by. [Carroll-Foy] It exists, inappropriate, and ethically questionable. ”
“These race-related comments – fully familiar with members of the General Assembly and completely inconsistent with the values of our nation – are overreachable to the Board’s decisions in exchange for fundraising. “The priority of VMIs to make it clear that they are trying to influence the impact of,” Cline wrote the part in a letter obtained by Fox News Digital.
A source familiar with the situation told Fox News Digital that there are other lawmakers besides Carroll’s followers who tie race and DEI considerations into contract debates.
According to a statement from Cline’s Office, the lawmaker (a former member of the Richmond Congress itself) said, “By withholding funds, strong-armed members of the VMI board will be clearly employed to create an overpowering influence on VMI. I think it’s trying to reveal a troublesome effort: Governance.”

“The idea that members of the General Assembly use their positions of power to intimidate VMI board members by conditioning funding for the extension of the supervisor’s contract is not inappropriate, and the complete abuse of power. “It’s,” Klein said in a statement.
“These comments make members of the General Assembly completely impossible and completely inconsistent with the values of our nation, so the general Assembly leadership is determined by the Board in exchange for VMI funding priorities. He adds:
Scott did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but the Richmond Times Dispatch reported that he and former Virginia Gov. Douglas Wilder (the first black governor in US history) would like Winds’ contract to be extended. I did.
However, the speaker told the paper that the discussion “is not about the general’s victory contract – it is about whether the school is moving in the right direction.”
