The Los Angeles County District Attorney will provide an update on the well-known Menendez Brothers case as the pair seeks freedom after being convicted of murdering their parents in 1996.
Da Nathan Hochman, who has been uncommitted to his opinion on the case since taking office in December, will address a reporter at 1pm, according to his office.
The brothers spent nearly 35 years in prison.
In October, then George Gascon announced that his office would reconsider the case in light of new evidence. Evidence includes a letter written by Eric Menendez a few months before he and his brother Lyle killed his parents with a shotgun at his Beverly Hills home in 1989. They were 21 and 18 respectively.

The letter appears to detail allegations of sexual abuse committed by his father, Jose Menendez.
The incident gained infamy in 1990 after Eric confessed to the murder. Both were arrested and were included in a lengthy legal process, including misunderstandings by the Ju Court in 1994. They were later returned in 1996, convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
A month before Gascone lost his bid for reelection against Hochman, the decision to retting was considered. He was led by the election, and shortly afterwards he said he would “make an effort” before deciding to continue his responsive efforts.
Earlier this month, two prosecutors in the DA’s office said they were demoted by Hochman after showing support for restinsing.
The DA’s office declined to request comment on the KTLA charges.
