During his first term, Trump said Kane was “instrumental” in the “complete disappearance” of the ISIS caliphate.
“It took place in a record set time, weeks. The so-called military ‘geniuses’ said it would take years to defeat ISIS,” the president wrote. “On the other hand, General Kane said it could be done quickly and he delivered.”
Trump said Kane was “passed for promotion by sleepy Joe Biden” despite being “highly qualified and respected.”

Both Trump and Hegses nodded to the departing chairman, four-star fighter pilot Charles “CQ” Brown.

The Secretary of Defense spoke openly about diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies that have negative effects on military operations, and previously proposed firing Brown and other top leaders.

“The incumbents of these important roles, Admiral Lisa Francieti and General James Sliff, respectively, had distinct careers,” Heggs wrote. “We appreciate your service and dedication to our country.”
Hegseth said the department is also calling for the nomination of general judges for the Army, Navy and Air Force.
